1725 Bar, Tapas, Dining Description
One of Lancaster's oldest public houses recently underwent an extensive refurbishment to turn it into a modern and contemporary tapas bar. Diners experience the beauty of the unique venue in a setting of historic stonework, traditional beams and an authentic Elizabethan alleyway. The inviting 1725 has two levels - a relaxed and informal Spanish ambiance on the ground floor - and a more intimate restaurant on the first.
Delicious homemade tapas such as deep fried whitebait, crayfish tails, pan-fried prawns, pork meatballs, sausage kebabs, fabada asturiana, patatas bravas, tortilla and salads, as well as lunches, all accompanied by cask ales, wines and continental beers are available. A Spanish night on Mondays give diners an opportunity to have unlimited paella while an additional Mediterranean á la carte menu is offered for dinner and on Sundays customers can enjoy roast and live music.

The first time my friend and I went to 1752 Bar, we had never eaten tapas but now we just keep going back. The restaurant is beautiful, has a fantastic atmosphere and the food is delicious. There's plenty to choose from the menu, not sure if there is a specials board though.

This restaurant has become one of our favourite places to eat in Lancaster. It has been beautifully renovated and can cater for larger parties, but has some cosy nooks for more intimate dinners or lunches. It has good music, low key and not intrusive. Most importantly, the food is delicious, the menu varied and interesting, and some good wines on offer-the house red is good value for money. It has friendly efficient staff and is generally well run. Children are also welcome and well catered for, but it really is a place for grown-ups. I love it!
