272 Restaurant Description

Ever since owner Simon Maltby met 272's head chef Neil Bennett at the opening of Newick Park there was no looking back and the duo have joined hands in an endeavour to mark 272 Restaurant on Newick's culinary map. The dining area emanates a soft glow, thanks to the warm wooden tones blending seamlessly with the beige coloured seating, helping diners settling in for a peaceful meal.

The cooking displays its inclination for modern European fare and the weekly changing menu exhibits innovation with dishes such as smoked salmon tartar topped with fried quail's egg and saffron aioli. Pan seared calf's liver on a warm beetroot and potato salad is served with sherry vinegar and thyme dressing and topped with crispy onion rings. Save space for some delicious desserts such as dark chocolate and raspberry cone parfait with a crisp tuile and raspberry coulis.

Every month 272 Restaurant plays host to themed evenings, which include events like wine tasting and cookery demonstrations.

Your Reviews of 272 Restaurant

DT (2 October 2009)

As a local resident, this restaurant is of a high quality in a small village. The food is consistently excellent and as mentioned by others, the cheeseboard is exceptional - warm, runny and tasty. My favourite is the flambéed crêpes, with Amber, the head hostess, creating dining ‘theatre’ with the flames that almost touch the ceiling. On the pricy side, £100 per couple with wine, but it is worth it.

Sam Francis (24 June 2009)

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and have had the same experience, good customer service, a varied menu, lovely tasting food and good wine choice. I would happily recommend this to any friend of mine.
