600 Restaurant at The Watergate has a most convenient location as it is right across the street from the Kennedy Center and people can pop in for a good meal before or even after the show. Service however is not on the quick side, and they do mention that they expect diners to allocate at least two hours for a good experience. The atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable and diners can enjoy a meal in the summer garden terrace too, looking out over the Potomac River.

The menu brings together American and French cuisines with ease and you could expect to start with smoked salmon with sour cream, chopped onions, capers, eggs and toast points. Soups and salads are popular, notably the lobster bisque; entrees could include fresh sautéed breast of chicken with asparagus, mushrooms and sherry wine sauce. Choices amongst drinks lead mainly to French, American as well with input from other countries.
