606 Club may carry the name of its former basement site at 606 Kings Road, but now it's located within more admirable surroundings on Lots Road and still remains a paragon of consistency and commitment, drawing in lovers of food and music since 1976. Well regarded by the music community, the club aims to present the best of British jazz, and informal jam sessions by musicians who have come down after gigs elsewhere are all too common here.

As for matters of the palate, things take an imaginative turn starting with an orange and carrot soup, marinated fresh anchovies served with beetroot and garlic tartare and crostini, and grilled chorizo sausages with feta. This stretches on to main courses of roast corn-fed chicken breast 'Portuguese style', and roast Welsh lamb rump with rosemary gravy.

The entire venue can be hired out during daytime for business presentations and photo shoots, or in the evening for special events, and there are dinner, buffet and canapé menus specially designed to suit the occasion.
