This place is handy for the SECC - only ten minutes walk. I can honestly say that this is the best pub and restaurant that I have ever visited. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly and the staff couldn't be nicer. Everything, absolutely everything in the place is vegan friendly. As for the food - excellent! When I visited in January 2011, there was a wide range of dishes including curry, chilli, canneloni and even vegetarian haggis! A good range of starters and desserts too. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are generous to say the least! I have no hesitation in recommending this place, I know if ever I visit Glasgow again I will be knocking on their door. Check out their website at www.the78cafebar.com. Stereo has changed its name to ‘The 78 ‘and features an old 78 rpm gramophone as well as a welcoming open fire. The food is excellent, a large choice of well cooked vegan food, a lot of which is organic. There is also a good selection of wines and beers. It’s a great place to eat for a snack or a full meal.
