An impressive manor house that goes back to the 11th century, surrounded by stunningly beautiful gardens. Everything here is done with care and thought and there is evidence of a master mind which thinks the processes through and has good knowledge of what those who come to this lovely spot really want. There is a number of dining rooms each of which would be at home in any decent country house, within which a classically based menu offers a range of delights. I first came to Risley Hall for a friend’s wedding and had an amazing time so when I found out that I was coming back, this time to Abbey Restaurant, for a surprise eighteenth birthday meal for myself, I was looking forward to it. The food was amazing and for the four of us having a three course meal each plus drinks the price was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the best birthday ever and I would strongly recommend the restaurant and would definitely return without a doubt.
