Abeno Description
Abeno boasts the title of being London's only okonomi-yaki restaurant. Okonomi-yaki is a traditional form of Japanese cooking that involves a pancake like batter mixture and a filling of your choice such as prawn, squid and pork being cooked before your eyes on your own hotplate or teppan, that is the centrepiece of your table. There are also noodle dishes well worth sampling and wholesome side dishes such as miso soup and seaweed salad.

Fantastic. I often think that all Japanese restaurants get the same five gallon buckets of generic goo off the same truck. OK, put some cashews in that one and some pea pods in the other one. Not this place! Wow. What a rush. This was fresh, good, unusual, kind of an event in and of itself. I’d go back in a heartbeat and hope to the very next time we are in London.
