Adil's Balti Description

Reputed to be the home of the balti, said by some to be a cuisine and by others to be a bucket. Either way Birmingham has come to be regarded as the birthplace of the balti in Britain and at Adils you can taste some of the best in Birmingham. Some people would challenge that statement on the grounds that Adils has slipped but on the night we were there it had a good atmosphere, people were visibly enjoying their food, and so were we.

I was at Uni in the late 1970's and found Adil by recommendation. It served the tastiest curries in Birmingham then and the standard has not fallen since. The naans are fantastic and the variety of balti is tremendous. I’m still going there after 30 years and hope to be going there for the next 30 years. If I had one last meal it would be an Adil balti and garlic naan.

I have been eating Indian food up to three times a week since 1978. An Indian restaurant owner introduced me to Adil’s in 1990, and after nineteen years I still think it has the best taste, value and service.
