Admiralty Restaurant, The

Set in the heart of Somerset House, one of London most unusual, artistic and cultural landmark venues, The Admiralty is a good choice for your business luncheon or romantic dinner. In the magnificent 18th century building of Somerset House, The Admiralty Restaurant is a bit of a hidden treasure, as it is situated out of view, in the South building.

Large sash windows along the wall allow a flood of sunlight into the two stunning dining rooms and adjoining bar, highlighting the high ceilings and galleon shaped chandeliers. The restaurant was designed through a partnership between architect, Andy Martin and Jewellery designer, Solange Azagury. The result is a unique series of rooms that combine the traditional with the contemporary.

The young kitchen brigade, led by Steve Gomersall, formerly of the St James Restaurant, have introduced their French flair into the menu and offer to their customers the best of traditional and regional French dishes with a twist of modernity. Kelvin Wong and his knowledgeable team provide you with a high level of customer service within this unique relaxing and informal setting, where you can enjoy the architecture of Somerset House along with great food and a choice from the extensive French regional wine list.

Open daily for lunch and dinner (closed Sunday evening) they have an a la carte menu, as well as daily set menus, allowing you to discover more on every visit. Pre-theatre menus are also available on a daily basis. Simplicity and quality are the most precious commodities at The Admiralty Restaurant. You will never feel so close to France.

The Admiralty Restaurant can also cater for your private dining function up to 80 people, and have 2 private dining rooms respectively seating 30 and 60, over the years it has become recognised as an unusual and interesting venue for private events, from business lunch to Christmas parties.
