Al Dente Restaurant

139 Easter Road, Edinburgh, EH7 5QA

Aldente, literally 'on the tooth', indicates a firmness of pasta texture, which is symptomatic of freshly cooked pasta. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine in a traditional Mediterranean ambience. The welcoming and charming staff pay attention to your every need and create a dining experience that is hard to forget. Let the meal begin with swordfish carpaccio with orange vinaigrette and capers and roast pepper stuffed with rice in tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. As the  evening  progresses you could enjoy the delights of French pasta stuffed with sea bass purée served with mussels and king prawn in a light sea food sauce, and oven baked monkfish with garlic, white wine and tomatoes to impress your companion.

REVIEWS OF Al Dente Restaurant

Kat (19 July 2010)

My family and I visited Al Dente last night after hearing some great reviews online and we were not disappointed. My folks have travelled far and beyond, tasted some of the best Italian, both overseas and in Italy, and they were pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. Together we ordered the bruschesta mista, which were four bruschesta with fillings of tomatoes, white beans, another of salami. It was a fantastic dish for starters. The veal was nicely done with a great flavour of rosemary to accompany the meat. The grilled vegetables were very tasty too. We also tried the Italian cheese plate and really loved it with pears to go with the creamy cheeses. Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was friendly, helpful and done to a top professional manner. The setting is much more relaxed and it’s great for any occasions. I highly recommend this place for the great combination of food and service. You won't be disappointed! I can't wait to go back.
