The Lebanese may not make much of a fuss with décor, but when it comes to food, nobody goes into details like they do. Aladdin's Eatery in Lincoln Park, Chicago illustrates this observation best. The cuisine is authentic Lebanese and the careful, healthy preparation would give the WHO a run for its money. Their pita bread contains no fat, oil or cholesterol and sulfites and preservatives are always omitted in cooking. Only fresh vegetables and meat appear on the menu, and vegetarians and vegans needn't worry with more than seventy dishes dedicated to them. Salad dressings and sautés are made with imported olive oil and juices are always squeezed fresh to order. If that isn't health-centric enough, Aladdin's has an array of delicious dishes suitable for gluten free, diabetic and heart healthy diets.

The sultan's shawarma pitza, falaffel, Aladdin's lamb rolled pita, mujadara plate and Mediterranean beef kafta plate are top of the charts, though there are a host of other lip-smacking dishes to suit every mood and palate. The service is good, the wine list extensive and the food healthy, with taste uncompromised. Definite thumbs-up!
