Albufera, La Description
L'Albufera is part of the Melia White House Hotel, and its weighty reputation has been further enhanced recently by the award for Best Spanish Restaurant Outside Spain, a trophy handed out by the Spanish equivalent of DEFRA. There is a good range of tapas including langoustines with pancetta, rustic bread and romesco sauce.
Starters include asparagus and octopus salad, sun-dried tomato and beans served with paprika and garlic vinaigrette. Mains courses offer plentiful choice with paellas, casseroles, fish, seafood and meat dishes, including grilled monkfish tail.
Only to be expected that the wine list is heavily influenced, and given the improvement in Spanish wines over recent years this is welcome.
