The Alderley Bar and Grill is part of a growing chain of casual and relaxed yet stylish bars and grills, spread out in different parts of the country. The Alderley Edge branch is situated near St Hillary's Park and provides lounging and dining downstairs and more intimate dining and an open kitchen upstairs. Pop in for lunch, take a break from shopping or while away the evening with friends.

Share a platter of olives, flat bread, hummus, falafel, tzatziki, fried Manouri cheese, Greek salad, savoury pastries and baby red peppers filled with feta as you order starters of Thai prawn cakes or a sweet fig and goats' cheese salad. This could be followed by a spicy shrimp risotto, tandoori sea bass with mint yoghurt, slow-cooked lamb shank with bay leaf and thyme, roasted winter root vegetables, or one of the steaks. Sandwiches of roasted chicken and smoked salmon are available from noon until 6pm.

Sign off with baked New York style cheesecake with blueberry compote. A small but carefully chosen wine list complements the food.
