Almeida Restaurant & Bar Description
The Almeida is a popular French Bistro from D&D London. The menu is a mixture of the sophisticated and the earthy, with plenty of good simple French Classics that are not often seen these days like coq au vin, frogs' legs, navarin of lamb and steak au poivre.
The room is beautifully presented also, with mustard coloured walls, big windows at the front and a kitchen open to the view of all at the rear, whilst their dessert trolley - not often seen these days - contains many tempting dishes.
If you are looking for a bargain, they serve a Set Lunch or Dinner - before 6.30 and after 9.30 - at £14.50 (for two courses) to £17.50, very reasonable value such a well presented place.
Plus their well put together wine list starts with bottles at a sensible £14.50 with a good selection under £25.

Had a wonderful evening, a birthday celebration in a wonderful restaurant. From walking in the door to walking out, the service was excellent. Nothing seemed any trouble to our waiter, he was attentive without rushing us and helped to make the evening very special.
The food is as good as it sounds on the menu and the atmosphere was just about perfect. My only hesitation in recommending this place would be to stop it becoming too overcrowded for those of us who have already discovered it!
