REVIEWS OF Amigos Mexican Restaurant & Steakhouse
Lloyd (7 April 2008)
What a place! This is undoubtedly the best food we've eaten in South Lakes. There were eight of us and were asked to pre order our meals, if possible. We looked at the menu on the website and phoned in the night before. The cellar bar welcomed us with Latin music, cosy red decor and glowing candles. When our starters were ready we were ushered to our table on the first floor. The restaurant has a funky feel with colourful linen and interesting artefacts. Our food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. My king prawns were perfect and so was my wife’s sticky ribs. We also had chicken and avocado quesadilla laced with fresh lime juice and I opted for the chilli sombrero - proper chilli made with chunky steak and fresh herbs. Our meals were divine along with the rest of our party. Service was quick and it probably helped as we had ordered in advance. We had good Mexican wine from a full wine list which topped the evening. We retired to the cellar bar for liqueur coffee and stayed the rest of the night before jumping on the last train back. Thank you Amigos, we will certainly be back and will recommend your place to everyone.
