Anchor Inn

26 Court Street, Nayland, CO6 4JL

The Anchor Inn is located in an idyllic spot, on the picturesque banks of the River Stour, overlooking the pub's kitchen garden and fields where their own animals graze. There's plenty of seating either inside the pub or in the restaurant, while the terrace and the benches along the river are positively delightful. The Heritage Farm, smokehouse and kitchen garden shape the menus featuring home reared meats, eggs from free range Welsummer chickens, as well as fish and game from their estate along with fresh produce. Menus change regularly to reflect the seasons but typically you might expect starters of beef goulash with a steamed bread dumpling followed by a main course of fillet of line caught wild sea bass set on spinach with champagne sauce or a classic dish of fish and chips.

The Anchor offers traditional beers, ales and some excellent wines.

REVIEWS OF Anchor Inn

Simon (20 October 2010)

Lovely child friendly riverside pub, with great home produced food! My young son and I enjoy a pint and delicious food after a river walk or a cycle ride through the idyllic surrounding countryside. Friendly helpful staff!

Excellent spot and delicious food. The house smoked platter is wonderful and reflects the ethos of the place - they make everything from scratch. I would highly recommend it!
