Anthony's at Flannels Description

This very smart and proper restaurant offers a standard conventional English menu through breakfast, lunch and tea against a background of good quality, value for money and creativity. The surroundings in which this is achieved are clean cut, light and airy, and from their third floor eyrie the views, if urban, are still pretty good.

Brunch features whisky porridge, smoked kippers and caper butter, and smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Lunch offers around eight dishes amongst which expect to find roast quail broth, pan-fried duck breast and chocolate and almond cake with rum and raisin ice cream.

That sensible English custom, afternoon tea, features three definitions all with a pot of tea in common. The full monty also has a selection of finger sandwiches, warm homemade scone, clotted cream, homemade strawberry reserve, followed by banana cake, sacha torte and shortbread.

Throughout the day a selection of what might best be termed tasty snacks ranging from a classic club sandwich through shepherds pie with rosemary bread to kettle chips and sweet chilli dip offers something for every appetite.

A nifty little wine list certainly does the business with wines from India, Greece, Chile and other more conventional sources at this admirable new addition to the culinary highlights of Leeds.
