Apostrophe - London, Market Place
40-41 Great Castle Street, London, W1W 8LU
Apostrophe is more that just a punctuation mark or a figure of speech; built along café lines, this boulangerie - patisserie has certainly made a mark in London's baking scene. Each of the 16 outlets is designed in a unique manner in keeping with its location and communal tables add to the general bonhomie. Quality and freshness of ingredients are taken seriously in addition to closely defending their environmental credentials. On the menu there are gourmet sandwiches, freshly-baked pastries and savouries, tarts and cakes, cookies and muffins, salads, soups and stews, and porridge and yogurts. There are also organic wholemeal or walnut loaves, rye bread, and multi-cereal or rye and raisin roll.Apostrophe is more that just a punctuation mark or a figure of speech; built along café lines, this boulangerie - patisserie has certainly made a mark in London's baking scene. A 'dolphin-friendly tuna' label always encourages and here it appears in a salad niçoise alongside boiled egg, French beans, kalamata olives, Jersey Royal potatoes, capers, oak leaf and vinaigrette.
The remarkable drinks line-up features freshly squeezed organic fruit juice, fruit cocktails and their famously rich hot chocolate.

REVIEWS OF Apostrophe - London, Market Place
Will (1 May 2007)
Cappuccinos without chocolate on them as company policy and for 'technical' reasons. Somehow the froth defies the laws of physics in this particular microcosm as it: "wouldn't work on the froth". Exceptionally abrupt staff with minimal grasp of English. Expensive to boot. One to avoid.
