Arancia Description

A very sound and most reasonably priced Italian neighbourhood restaurant in Bermondsey. Don't expect too many frills though with down to earth décor and fittings, the tablecloths are paper ones for instance, but everything is concentrated in the food, which is imaginative and good value.

However, the quality is high enough that Arancia is listed in the Good Food Guide and generally rated well elsewhere. The menu is quite short but changes weekly, and portion sizes are excellent. They boast a shortish, but good, Italian wine list with a large choice under £15, quite a rarity for London.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend’s family who happen to live near by and had a really nice time. The staff are friendly and genuinely try to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. The restaurant is fairly small but this adds to its charm and provides an intimate feeling. The food is brilliant, locally sourced and has a rustic Italian feel to it. It’s definitely worth a visit.
