Twickenham Green may have been a hub of activity during the 1960s when the Salvation Army Band played there on Sunday mornings. Things haven't changed all that much as you can now see a steady stream of customers step in for a mid morning coffee and toast at Arthur's on the Green. A laid-back atmosphere, pleasant staff and al fresco dining during summer months makes this a popular no-frills restaurant serving creatively prepared, modern British food.

What may be missing in their kitchen are additives, microwaves or anything artificial, so guests can be assured that all dishes are cooked to order using fresh produce. The menu opens with the likes of chicken liver pâté with onion marmalade or Shetland mussel's mariniéres. This could be followed by braised rabbit with mustard sauce, mash and vegetables, and Arthur's fishcake with crème fraîche and chives, chips and salad. Finish with Pavlova meringue with berries and ice cream.
