Asadal Restaurant
227 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7DA
The name may not be a giveaway but Asadal Restaurant is one of those few places introducing the intricacies of Korean cuisine to Londoners. Although the name translates to morning-land, the interior is a dimly-lit place, perhaps owing to its basement location, but the feelings of cosiness and comfort are unmistakable. The kimchi marks a litmus test for good Korean restaurant - a unique dish prepared using Chinese cabbage, white radish and cucumbers that are salted and preserved in a spicy seasoning - and Asadal does well to pass the assessment. Delightful barbecued dishes like lightly seasoned cuts of cuttlefish and slices of ox tongue meat could follow, or perhaps a hotpot of marinated beef and spiced baby octopus cooked with vegetables in a broth. The name may not be a giveaway but Asadal Restaurant is one of those few places introducing the intricacies of Korean cuisine to Londoners. Nando's - Holborn
With quality food, friendly staff, quick service and excellent value for money, Nando's is a great place to eat. Don't expect identikit, pre-fab restaurant interiors which are usually a staple of the larger chains; each restaurant is tailored to its local surroundings and customers, offering up a unique restaurant experience to go with the equally unique taste of legendary, Portuguese, Peri-Peri chicken.
