Asia de Cuba Description
Asia De Cuba is one of several restaurants at the ultra hip St Martin's hotel. Expect to be surrounded by beautiful people, if not the odd celebrity. The food is a fusion of Asian and Cuban cuisine, hence its name. The menu provides an interesting array of dishes, many of which are delicious, whilst others not only leave you feeling slightly disappointed but also rather impoverished by the prices.
Well worth sampling though is five-spice sirloin steak with pink grapefruit salad and black bean croquettes. Main course dishes are large enough to share, a concept that is encouraged there so at least you have some control over the bill. The sophisticated cocktails are also a real must.

Asia de Cuba is an amazing experience. Rarely do you find portions too big to eat elsewhere! Listen to the advice of the extremely knowledgeable waiting staff. They will tell you to share main courses. No matter how hungry you may feel, after a starter you will struggle with a main course to yourself. Each side dish is enough for two.
The food is a unique blend of Asian and Caribbean which works amazingly well. Both meat and fish are sensational. Once you have accepted the sharing concept, the prices seem somewhat reasonable. The wine list is comprehensive but, in fairness, pricey. The house white is excellent and half the price of anything else. You will find this cunningly secreted on the first page of the wine list away from the rest of the selection.
The atmosphere is buzzing - it really is a great place to go with a few friends where you can share lots of dishes in true Asian style. It is not really the ideal venue for quiet romantic dinners. Highly recommended.
