Assam's Description

Assam brings to Glasgow the wonderful flavours of traditional Indian food, cooked in the way it is prepared in most homes and yet it is not the typical hot pot of masalas and spices to be found in many curry houses. Every dish has a distinctive taste and the intermingling of spices is balanced and hits all the right notes. Service is friendly and welcoming with the staff outfitted in gorgeous, colourful clothes and the décor is light and easy on the eyes.

From the range of interesting starters, you could choose spiced haddock with mushroom or keema samosas, spicy mince deep fried in pastry, served with chick peas. Main courses could include chicken cooked with chillies or spinach, lamb chops or tandoori salmon. For dessert, there's the enticing gulab jamun with ice cream, warm and syrupy and paired perfectly with the cold and delicious. They have interesting offers for buffet lunch, pre theatre and tapas and a special menu for the little ones.

  • £6.50 (buffet), £6.95 (tapas), 12 - 3pm

Your Reviews of Assam's

Johnny (14 November 2009)

We booked a table at Assam’s for my wife’s birthday; I won't mention her age, and what a great night we had. The food was superb, the service was great and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We would urge anyone who likes Indian food to try it as it’s the best Indian restaurant we have been to. 10/10.

I have to let you know that is the best Indian food I have ever eaten, the price and service are the best. Do yourself a favour, make a booking and you will be back.
