At Bangkok Cafe
39-41 Low Friar Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE1 5UE
In the bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne, culinary delights are a plenty, but for a taste of the exotic Orient, then At Bangkok Café will do very well indeed. Simple, unfussy and informal décor serves as the perfect foil to fresh and authentic Thai food, while the friendly service adds to their appeal. You can savour delights there such as home made spring rolls, chicken satay, spicy minced pork salad with mint, fresh lime juice, and ground rice or king prawn tempura for starters. Follow that up with duck in Thai red curry with pineapple and tomato or chicken in coconut milk soup with herbs for main course. Steamed jasmine rice or glass noodles go very well with these curries. In the bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne, culinary delights are a plenty, but for a taste of the exotic Orient, then At Bangkok Café will do very well indeed. REVIEWS OF At Bangkok Cafe
Fiona (12 September 2008)
We had a fantastic meal there in July for my husband's birthday and such good value. The service was second to none. This place was recommended by friends and was really surprised at the high quality and choice of dishes on the menu. It was a treat from start to finish, a gem of a restaurant in the city centre. Going to head back with a group of friends soon - can't wait!

Bangkok Café is the most authentic Thai restaurant I've come across. If you have only eaten Chinese food you will be in for a surprise. This is the kind of Thai food you find in Thailand - spicy and wonderful. The members of staff were great and it's great value for money. Give it a try.
