Auberge - Tooley Street Description

If you're looking to relax over a fine meal in a restaurant where the ambience is laidback and casual, and yet the food is prepared with utmost care, then you might want to take a look at an Auberge restaurant. For over twelve years, they have been providing French inspired cuisine to their patrons and their popularity continues to be undiminished. Hunger demands can be met with their express menu with its sandwiches, burgers and salads.

Dinner options are also excellent, with typical starters such as tiger prawns with garlic, chilli, butter, parsley followed by herb crusted roasted lamb rump, gratin Dauphinois, French beans and rosemary jus. Sample the profiteroles filled with cream and covered with chocolate sauce for a light and delectable dessert and make sure you choose something from their selection of crisp Belgian beers or maybe a glass of wine from the eclectic list that spans both the old and the New World.

Your Reviews of Auberge - Tooley Street

Andrew Horder (10 January 2007)

Initially we only popped in there for a brief coffee and meeting, but the meeting ran on and we stayed for a very pleasant meal. The staff were attentive but left us alone, even as the restaurant filled up later in the evening. When we did eventually order, the food came quite quickly, and was excellent. We've been back and experienced similar service and food.

Puk (26 August 2005)

After taking a while to decide what to eat, we opted for the Duck Breast and Lamb shank only to be told they'd run out. I then asked for the Spaghetti with spicy sausage, only to be told by the waitress the sausage doesn't taste very nice. So then I opted for the Salmon on a bed of peas with red pesto. We then waited 40 minutes for our starter which was ok as we were starving. But the main course was a disappointment, my friend ordered Steak with potato gratin dauphinoise, only to be told during our starter they didn’t have any, so she was served roast potatoes, I was served a greasy Salmon steak, it seemed liked it had been deep fried rather than pan fried and the pesto was green not red! Overall, a disaster from start to finish as we waited a further 40 minutes for our bill, in the end we went to the bar to pay only to get slapped with a service charge!!! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all.
