Awel yr Aran

We had been to the Awel yr Aran restaurant, it is great, we were there for our anniversary, and were staying in a local hotel, but wanted that something special for the occasion, and we were just wandering past and went in for some great afternoon tea, everything was homemade, and boy! Could you tell the difference? Luckily for us they still head a table for us for that evening, the local welsh beef was out of this world, pigeon, duck, chocolate crème brulee, homemade sorbets, what a feast, and a great wine list to go with it, don’t pass it or you will miss out.

We went to Bala last week and we went to the Awel yr Aran restaurant, it was great; the food is of the highest standard and they have a good wine list, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and you feel like staying there all night. In fact we did make a night of it, we booked our table for 7 pm and we didn’t leave before eleven. It was a fantastic end to a great day. We highly recommend this small and unassuming (from the outside) restaurant, and we will be back.
