Ayudhya Thai Restaurant Description

Thai food has always been popular because of the beautiful mingling of tastes that yields delicious results and you can savour this glorious fusion at Ayudhya Thai in Kingston. This twenty year old restaurant is an institution of sorts, considering that they have some of the most authentic Oriental cuisine while their ethnic décor is extravagant with an elegance that is hard to miss.

With starters such as gung hom pa, prawns stuffed with minced chicken, spring onions and coriander wrapped in a thin rice pancake and deep fried, chances are you will want to spend more than a cursory glance at this section. Moving onto main courses, there is gai paht khing, a savoury combination of stir fried chicken and livers of ginger, mushroom and onion or stir fried duck breast with vegetables in chef's special sauce. Desserts include a delectable coconut pumpkin custard, and the range of wines is well suited to the demands of the cuisine.

Your Reviews of Ayudhya Thai Restaurant

Mandy (21 August 2009)

We thought the food there was excellent, it tasted freshly cooked, the flavours were spot on and whilst it was spicy, it wasn't too spicy. We had the roast duck curry and the pla rad prik, a monkfish in a chilli tamarind sauce. The portions were a little small and it was a little pricey, but the food was delicious. The service was great, attentive but not too overbearing.

Clare (3 July 2008)

This place used to be such a favourite of mine with excellent quality food. I have been going there for years but sadly things change. I am not sure if it has been taken over by someone else but I felt the food is now really bad. The last meal I had there was not fresh and the meat was substandard.
