Aziza's Cafe Bazaar Description

If you were a former patron of the Mezzanote Italian trattoria, but a haggis hop from the Kelvin Bridge you will know exactly where Aziza's is; now, where the pizzas and pastas used to delight, there is a menu that embraces the cuisines of Morocco and the Middle East including mezze, couscous, tagines, tabouleh and kebabs, with such regular dishes as Lebanese rice and saffron, pine nuts and vegetables. If it's your lucky day you may get to smoke apple tobacco (banned or otherwise?), in a water pipe.

The worthy passion of management for the cause of socially excluded ethnic communities, happily does not exclude the occasional appearance of a belly dancer who performs amidst the richly Middle Eastern décor and trappings, quite a feat bearing in mind that this is not one of the larger cafés of Glasgow. It also includes women helpers from Lebanon, Sudan and Ghana, all of which lends a unique atmosphere to Aziza's that dissipates all too rapidly as you seek a taxi on the kerb outside.

Donjenlou (2 April 2008)

We enjoyed the informal atmosphere and the wholesome hearty food. It would be a great venue for a small crowd looking for something different.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, very relaxed,

hard to leave.
