Bangkok House Description

Another popular Oxford ethnic eatery in Central Oxford and responsible for reducing many a good grant by a few quids over the years. The setting is homely and the furniture particularly impressive with that sturdy sort of furniture which somehow always manages to retain an elegance. The range of dishes is not that wide but there's something for everyone and if you are out looking for somewhere to go with your friends and have a long leisurely evening, as well as a good choice of puddings, Bangkok House is worthy of your attention.

Your Reviews of Bangkok House

Tony Price (21 May 2008)

My partner and I went to Bangkok House last Saturday and felt this place served the best Thai food we’ve eaten. The decor is excellent and the service is first class. We will be going back as we have found a first class restaurant.

Will Fearon (23 March 2006)

My partner and I used to live on the Hythe Bridge. As you can imagine we went into the Bangkok House fairly often. This has been are favourite restaurant since our first visit. The décor is like nothing else that you will find in Oxford, with all the chairs and tables “hand carved” with the wall and ceiling matching. The staff who are all of foreign origin are extremely friendly and we have always found their service excellent. The only trouble that you may find it hard to get a table.

I cannot personally vouch for the entire menu but everything my partner or I have tried has been excellent. Most of the time we are reluctant to have anything except the Thai green or red curry which is fantastic. I cannot praise the place any better than to say we will go back again and again. One small downer is their dessert menu which is a little small after such a fantastic main menu. We both strongly recommend the place to all our friends.
