Bar Battu in Gresham Street is one of a new generation of natural wine bars offering organic and biodynamic wines that are naturally sparkling and unfiltered, containing little or no sulphur and preservatives. Sit back, relax in the chic modern setting with bare brick walls and low industrial lighting and introduce the taste buds to an excellent selection from small producers, sourced mainly from France. The same attention to detail is applied to the menu which offers delicious modern European cuisine with ingredients sourced locally wherever possible.

The wine list offers a range of exquisite pétillant naturels to more full bodied back country wines. This includes Muscadets and Chablis, Gamays and Barolos, with a surprising twist to them. Symbols on the menu indicate the wine's characteristics.  The à la carte menu features a range of meat, fish, cheese and vegetarian dishes including small plates of Cornish mackerel, snail and oxtail ragout, steak tartare and beetroot, goat's cheese and walnut salad. Main courses of veal chop and anchovy butter, grilled stone bass with ginger mussels, braised Suffolk pork belly, confit breast of lamb and roast monkfish offer more substantial fare. Prix fixe and party menus are also available.
