Bar du Marche

19 Berwick Street, London, W1F 0PX

Located in the heart of Soho, Bar du Marche is probably best described as a little French haven, minus the travails of crossing the Channel, and handy for those making the best use of a tight budget. If this description is enough to warrant a visit to this Berwick Street restaurant, then step in to experience a slice of France within the convivial interior of this charming, café-styled place. Their approach to food is bold and confident with a carte that reveals familiar names like snails in garlic butter, pan-fried frog's legs and homemade fish soup with croutons and rouille. Guinea fowl stewed with bacon, mushrooms and new potatoes makes for an exciting main course, whilst seafood enthusiasts will be content with a 'meunière' style lemon sole or salmon pavé with spinach cream.

REVIEWS OF Bar du Marche

Christian (6 January 2011)

This little French restaurant is a surprise finding in Soho. It has dishes of fine quality for fair prices.

Brian Peverall (26 January 2010)

I found this little gem of a cafe last month and have been back since - friendly atmosphere, unpretentious with very good food at reasonable prices. You really get the feeling you're in a cafe in France somewhere.
