Bar Epernay Description
Bar Epernay - Champagne, Piano Bar and Brasserie, which takes its name from one of the major towns in the champagne country, is situated in the exclusive development of The Mailbox, with scenic views of the canal. The atmosphere at this stylish brasserie is mellow and relaxing, especially with the sounds of their resident pianist Tristan Hall, who plays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Being primarily a champagne bar, you can expect to see an extensive list. Bar Epernay aims to entice their customers with their champagne of the month promotion, often offering vintage champagne at the price of non-vintage. In addition customers can expect to find a selection of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and hot beverages on offer.
For those wishing to dine at Bar Epernay, they provide good quality food with their brasserie, featuring light bites, brunch, daily specials menus along with their fresh catch of the day. Dishes might include tempura king prawns amongst starters, followed by grilled whole lemon sole and passion fruit baked cheesecake for dessert.
Fixed Lunch
- £12.50 (one course from specials menu + glass of house wine + cup of fresh coffee)

Your Reviews of Bar Epernay
Gail (17 June 2008)
I really like this place and have seen it become more popular over the last four years. Unfortunately it seems to have lost some of it's refinement as it has become more busy. However, it's still a lovely place to while away a Saturday afternoon with some nice lunch and wine or champagne, accompanied by piano music - very relaxing. The Sunday lunches are good but you need to get there early if you want their traditional roast. Evening meals are again good, but it does tend to get noisy around 9.00 with folks dropping in for a drink on their way up to Broad Street. Prices aren’t too bad with starters at £5 -£6, mains at £15 - £20 and desserts at £5- £6. It is advisable to book if you prefer a table by the window.
