Bar Thirty Eight Description
If you're in Luton and on the lookout for an exciting new place to relax and catch up with friends, head to Bar Thirty Eight in Guildford Street. The interior is done up in a funky and modern way, and the atmosphere is filled with soothing music, encouraging customers to forget their cares and concentrate simply on having a good time.
The menu is made up of modern European and brasserie dishes, reasonably priced and all created from local and British ingredients. Trust a plate of buffalo mozzarella, beef tomato and orange salad with rocket and balsamic vinegar, alongside smoked duck and black pudding to help you start. These could be followed by the Thirty Eight burger; mussels in coconut milk with lemon grass, chilli and coriander; loin of venison, or pork steak with sweet potatoes, apple chutney, and sage jus, and poached pear with toasted hazelnuts and mulled wine syrup to end.
A wide range of wines are available by the glass.

We ate at Bar Thirty Eight this evening and we both chose something different off the menu and both our meals were lovely, especially the sumo chips. The décor, music and atmosphere were nice but the seats were very uncomfortable indeed. We will return soon when there is a new menu to try.
