Owned by the larger than life character Iggy Campos, who also has Iggs next door, Barioja specialises in authentic tapas from all the different Spanish regions - a huge range to suit everyone. Lively Spanish music pervades the atmosphere, which is always friendly and warm, just like in Spain. Cosmopolitan staff, including some Spaniards, offer pleasant service with a smile.

I popped in there on a Sunday at lunchtime. |It is in a good location and very nice inside, but the food was very disappointing. I taste some unimaginative tapas and a hole in my wallet.

We had some time to fill in at Waverley station after returning from a Spanish holiday. We went round the corner to Barioja and were served the best tapas of the whole week. I recommend the gambas, morcilla and patatas bravas.
