Like many other local people I have eaten at Bartons Mill over a number of years, since they first started. This has been both personally, and with my company. We have often entertained overseas visitors, who always want to return. The members of staff are always professional and efficient, but very friendly at the same time. There is a wonderful atmosphere there and the food is superb. Last year I had my wedding reception there and could not fault one thing. We, and our guests, had a fabulous day. If the format of this restaurant changes it will be a very sad day, and I trust that the new managers will take heed of the strength of opinion from local diners regarding this wonderful place, which I would visit as my first choice at any time.

I have used Bartons Mill Restaurant from almost the day it opened some 28 years ago. I have always had a great meal and the service is first class. I am aware that the restaurant is changing soon and I feel that this will be detrimental to the reputation that they have built up over many years. To me it will be like the end of an era, not only for the village of Old Basing but all their loyal customers.
