Basement Cafe Bar & Bistro

The Drang, Padstow, PL28 8BS

Padstow generates a lot of buzz among tourists with its water sports and the famous Camel Trail not to mention the pretty, pastel shaded houses and lovely restaurants looking over the quay. The Basement Café is one such charming place located in the centre of the town, where you can enjoy your meal as you sit under the shaded al fresco dining area across the waterfront or inside the trendy restaurant. You could start with the tuna carpaccio with salsa verde before moving on to the Sri Lankan seafood curry with prawns, swordfish, squid and mussels or the fillet steak on wild mushrooms with a rich thyme beurre rouge. Desserts include baked chocolate cheesecake or a plum tart tatin while coffees from Illy are present on the beverage list along with beers and Peroni on draught.

REVIEWS OF Basement Cafe Bar & Bistro

Annette (14 August 2010)

I would love to join you for a meal tonight but sadly it’s a long way to travel from Bedfordshire! We had two lovely meals at your place while staying in Padstow and would certainly come again when down. It’s a lovely atmosphere and we'd thoroughly recommend to you! Thanks again and keep up the good work

Emma Morey (26 September 2008)

A very good evening meal cooked to perfection. It was so good that we went back for breakfast and lunch. It’s one of Padstow's hidden gems with friendly service, good prices and an altogether great experience.
