Bay Brasserie, The Description
The Bay Brasserie really is like no other restaurant in the bay, as the spacious, continental style decor creates a relaxed and informal atmosphere for diners.
Their menu aims to be affordable and appealing to everyone, with a heavy influence of local ingredients. Head Chef, Horace Ham has taken care to ensure the menu reflects the Mediterranean atmosphere but keeps some good old fashioned English dishes like his signature dish, Poachers Pot - tender pieces of marinated venison, rabbit and pheasant in a port wine and Dijon mustard sauce, topped with a herb crust.
Starters could consist of: grilled Devon goat's cheese, served on a crispy smoked bacon and pine nut salad with a basil and sherry vinaigrette or linguini with a roasted tomato and sweet pepper sauce finished with fresh basil and shaved pecorino. With mains such as: fillet of salmon, marinated in lime juice and finished with fennel and vermouth sauce or shank of Dartmoor lamb slowly braised in rich red wine with herbs and haricot beans.
Probably the most unique feature of the Brasserie is its very large sun terrace with heated parasols, perfect for al fresco dining through an extended season. Parking is ample and a full refund for your pay and display ticket is given when paying.

Your Reviews of Bay Brasserie, The
Mr and Mrs Tann (6 May 2008)
After we heard about this place from friends, we decided to try it out. On arrival we were delighted with the friendly greeting we received from the staff and were promptly looked after. I chose the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection and my wife found the duck splendid. The staff were extremely efficient and were always eager to help. We recommend this restaurant.
John (26 April 2008)
We went to this restaurant for a change and were disappointed. On our arrival some members of staff were chatting and were clearly unfazed. My brother-in-law’s steak was supposed to be 8oz and cooked medium rare but the piece of meat on the plate was very small. When we commented to the staff they were not knowledgeable. My sister-in-law and I had lamb shank, which was okay and my wife had chicken, which was passable. For desserts, I chose the cheeseboard because it had Sharpham Rustic on it but what arrived it certainly didn't. When I complained, I was told that Cheddar was Sharpham, but I knew it wasn't.
