A popular and friendly, family run restaurant on Edinburgh's High Street, the Bay of Bengal offers a choice of Indian, Bangladeshi and selected Thai dishes. The interior is beautifully decorated with bold colour schemes and bright lighting creating a vibrant ambience for diners. The menu includes tempting starters including pakuras, king prawn butterfly served with yoghurt sauce and salad, or soup of the day to whet your appetite. The extensive main course selection includes traditional Indian favourites such as lamb pasanda, tender pieces of lamb tikka in spices cooked with cream or Thai dishes such as methi prawn cooked with herbs, fenugreek and fragrant spices. Vegetarians are also well catered for with the restaurants 'green cuisine' menu listing over a dozen main courses including vegetable thali and sag aloo, a spicy dish of spinach and potato in an aromatic sauce.
