Beach Blanket Babylon - Notting Hill
45 Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London, W11 2AA
BBB or Beach Blanket Babylon Notting Hill is known for its outrageous larger than life decadence and luxury, opulence that never fails to stun the visitor in terms of visual grandeur. But this Notting Hill restaurant which has been around since 1990 holds its own not just for its unique decor but also the remarkable food for which they are renowned. Located on Ledbury Road in an old Georgian mansion, this is the perfect place for a spot of indulgence, whether with friends over a cocktail at their glamorous bar, or a delicious meal in their splendid restaurant. From the à la carte menu, there might be smoked salmon and mackerel pâté, with pea shoots, radish and lemon oil amongst the starters followed by a main course of duck breast with jersey royals, green beans, baby carrots and juniper berry jus.BBB or Beach Blanket Babylon Notting Hill is known for its outrageous larger than life decadence and luxury, opulence that never fails to stun the visitor in terms of visual grandeur. REVIEWS OF Beach Blanket Babylon - Notting Hill
Sophie (13 February 2008)
I booked this restaurant for a Hen party of twenty people. Unfortunately we were left with lesser expectations than originally hoped for. To say the least, I was very disappointed and embarrassed. Whilst the service was good, I was incredibly disappointed with the service from the kitchen. The standard I would expect from a restaurant in this class was below average.
The main courses came in batches and took very long - a number of guests had finished their main dish and the side dishes were only just arriving. To add to this, when the bill finally arrived we had been over charged by for four extra three course meals. This is not acceptable by any standard.

The décor is beautiful – it’s a shame that’s the only thing going for the over priced bar, with the most arrogant, rude staff I have ever encountered in my life. They seem to think they are above serving drinks when in fact that is their job. The waitress walked away when my friend was midway through her sentence sighing at us for asking her to recommend a cocktail. She then brought the wrong drinks three times, each time saying we had ordered what she bought, when we hadn’t. She then spilt half my friend's cocktail when putting it down and refused to get another one. I had a cracked glass and guess what, I couldn’t get another one.
After all these disasters, we called the manager, a stuck up blonde who had total delusions of grandeur and was utterly useless, no apology, no free drinks as a sorry - just a stony faced snooty with a don’t-care attitude that made us feel it was our fault. The bill was extortionate and needless to say we deleted the cover charge. I felt so disappointed and embarrassed that I had recommended to my friends that we go to BBB. The staff should remember they are waitresses and if they don’t want to wait for people, then they should get a new job - though with their attitude that would be hard. Avoid like the plague.
