Beirut Express - Old Brompton Road

Goodness, I don't understand what happened on the days the above reviewers went to Beirut Express but I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and always had a great time. The food is just excellent, there are always mountains of it and the staff have always been very polite and smiling when I've been there. Please don't be put off by the other reviews, this place is a refreshing change from the other overpriced places in the area.

I went to Beirut Express for lunch with two friends and found the staff very unhelpful, unfriendly and downright rude. They did not seem to want us to sit at a table although we expressed the wish to do so. A door at the back somewhere kept slamming very loudly, which was quite off-putting. There was no service with a smile - come on at least make an effort! I got the impression they all hated working there - I wonder why?
