Bellenden Brasserie Description

To some people, the words 'chic' and 'French' are quite synonymous, and Bellenden Brasserie, situated in Bellenden Village, Peckham, corroborates this assumption. This small restaurant serves French and Mediterranean cuisine and often forms the backdrop for events like art exhibitions, book signings and community meetings as well as lending a platform to talented, local jazz players on Sundays.

Traditional French breakfasts such as croissants, served with butter and jam or filled with egg and either sausage or bacon are yours for the taking. Or you could just opt for a good old English breakfast with fried, scrambled or poached eggs, served with sausage, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato and a choice of brown or white toast.

Warm chicken and mushroom salad, or homemade salmon fishcakes served with mixed salad and sweet chilli sauce, help assuage lunchtime rumblings. Dinner is more elaborate with the ever popular pumpkin risotto or braised rabbit served on runner beans with mustard sauce. Decadent French desserts such as fondant au chocolat are the perfect end to a delightful meal.
