An authentic Thai restaurant, on Beak Street in the heart of Soho, Benja is a small but well-appointed dining space with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Spread over three floors of a period townhouse, the restaurant offers options for private dining on the lower level as well as a space for get-togethers and family occasions on the upper floor. Recreating an ambience that is distinctly Thai, with patterned silk banquets, ornate wall panelling and stone statues, the restaurant serves a menu of contemporary Thai dishes where local ingredients are infused with exotic flavours to create a unique taste. Head Chef M L Kwantip uses her familial traditions and experience to create dishes that include starters of chicken satay, minced chicken puffs and salads. Main courses include dishes of sirloin steak, tender stewed lamb in yellow curry, king scallops in black pepper sauce as well as a range of vegetarian delicacies.
The varied menu is ably complemented by desserts of Thai ice cream, and a drinks list that includes imported Thai beers and wine.
