Benson Blakes Bar & Grill Description

Brewing has been of prime importance in the economy of the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, evidence of which can be found in the presence of the Greene King and a few notable breweries. Benson Blakes Bar and Grill offers patrons a wide choice of dishes and of course, draughts, bottled beers, ciders and even local ales from Nethergate to choose from along with house wines that start at £13.25.

An eclectic selection, the cuisine there is largely influenced by European as well as Modern British touches and you could expect to find gourmet burgers that range from spicy Thai to chicken, cranberry and brie variations. The kitchen tapas such as meatballs with an arribiatta sauce are interesting and filling or you could head straight for their specialities such as honey and mustard glazed pork chops with sweet potato chips, with an apple and gooseberry chutney.

Your Reviews of Benson Blakes Bar & Grill

Paul Martin (27 May 2009)

This is absolutely the best bar to eat and drink in Bury St Edmunds - fantastic food, fantastic staff and great atmosphere. Benson’s has a separate room which is great for a private party and they are so helpful; nothing is too much trouble. They also welcome children as long as they know how to behave and the kids menu is so good; adult meals with a twist and in small portions.

Shaun (5 February 2009)

Excellent; they serve the best burgers in Britain.
