Bettys Cafe & Tearooms - York Description

Almost as Yorkshire as mucky brass Bettys, which always claims to be a small family business, continues to expand without, apparently any loss of direction. Here in York they faultlessly combine a retail outlet for their excellent products with a café where you can enjoy some of the tastiest snacks around. If you are in York don't miss the opportunity to stock up on some decent tea (they'll advise you on what brew is right for your part of the world), cream cakes and other punishable offences that will delight your tastebuds as well as enjoy a Yorkshire rarebit with apple chutney at table.

Your Reviews of Bettys Cafe & Tearooms - York

Daisy (30 September 2008)

My mum, grandma and I went to the ballet and afterwards we went to Betty's for lunch. I had a lovely milk shake with ice cream in it. It was when they had the Easter eggs. Ever since then I have decided that I will have a big Easter egg from Betty’s for my wedding cake and everyone will be able to bash it to have a bit of fun. I am eight so it will be in ages.

Pip (30 June 2008)

We visited York for a long weekend at the end of June and didn't want to wait in the long queue for lunch and afternoon tea. We were lucky mid-morning on the Monday - no queue and we walked straight in. The service was fast and efficient; the waitresses were helpful, friendly and attentive; the food was delicious and the tea tasted terrific after the awful stuff served up in hotels and other establishments. This was our first visit and we'd go back any time.
