Bevis Marks

Running a kosher restaurant in an epicurean city such as London is not an easy task, but Bevis Marks has been around for the past three decades and they don't seem to be slowing down at all. Which is a good thing, as this elegant restaurant located in the Square Mile of the City of London, has managed to continue building upon its strengths, showing non-Jewish guests that kosher food can be tasty and even fun.

From the menu, expect starters of chicken soup with matzo balls or a tian of flaked salmon with avocado, pink grapefruit and spring onion salad followed by a main course of traditional salt beef with frites, beetroots and horseradish. Other delicious options such as herb crusted salmon with pea puree and sorrel sauce or best end English lamb chops with fondant potato and thyme jus are also excellent. Finally, finish with the fig and almond tart with cinnamon ice cream. The wine list at Bevis Marks features some choices from Israel alongside regular classics.
