Bibendum Oyster Bar

Separate to, and downstairs from Bibendum Restaurant, is Bibendum Oyster Bar, located in the original touring office, and offering a thoroughly delightful experience as demonstrated by the sheer simplicity in food brought up to its finest level. Tiles and pictures depicting races of the past add to the informal feel of the place and tables are well-spaced ensuring sufficient privacy.

Expect to find native and rock oysters and shellfish alongside cleverly constructed salads and terrines like gravadlax with pickled cucumber, mustard and dill sauce, fillet of pork with chickpeas, chorizo and tomato, and rare beef with potato salad and tarragon dressing. A plateau de fruits de mer includes crab, langoustines, fresh Mediterranean prawns, oysters, prawns, shrimps, winkles and whelks, good for sharing, as are plates of charcuterie, hummus, tzatziki, taramasalata and aubergine with pita.

All house wines are available by the glass, 460 ml pot and bottle, and include a 2008 Domaine de Montmarin Sauvignon Blanc whose citrus flavours perfectly complement the seafood on offer.
