Bishop's Table Restaurant, The Description

Not to be mistaken with another residence in Farnham where the present Bishop's table is located, this handsome Georgian house was once home to a training centre for the clergy. It now offers an interesting range of dishes amidst surroundings possibly more relaxing than when the clerics were in residence. As so often the simpler items tend to be the best, though the more exotic puddings are appealing. A worthy wine list adds lustre to the event, with house wine at £10.50.

The food is beautifully cooked and presented. There is no doubt about that. The service too was exemplary. However, my wife and I felt that there was no sense of intimacy. Perhaps the lighting could be a little more subdued. We felt we could not relax.
