Small, and unassuming; Bistro De La Gare on Hudson Street in Greenwich Village serves up a delectable and varied menu of French and Mediterranean cuisine with occasional international touches. Started by Chefs and co-owners Maryann Terillo and Elisa Sarno, who first worked together in the late-80s at Maryann's West Village Cafe De La Gare, and fittingly the new restaurant was named in honour of its predecessor. The décor is understated and guests can enjoy a relaxed dining experience either indoors or in the small outdoor garden.

The menu is prepared from fresh and seasonal ingredients sourced locally. It includes plates of grilled chicken on roasted vegetable and arugula salad with tomato vinaigrette, tuna nicoise with vegetables and a traditional dish of cassoulet, with pork cheese, homemade garlic sausage, duck confit, beans and tomato. Those with a sweet tooth, can savour desserts of vanilla-cinnamon panna cotta with candied walnuts and bread pudding with crème anglaise.

The drinks list includes carefully chosen wines and champagnes from France and Italy as well as a selection of small batch beers guaranteed to enhance any meal.
