This steakhouse in Berners Street gets its name from black for well done and blue for rare. All of their meat comes from suckler herds in Yorkshire and Lancashire and is Red Tractor rated. Artwork on the walls, fresh linen napkins and a modern approach give Black and Blue a crisp contemporary feel.

To start, there's tortilla chips with guacamole, crispy chicken wings, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, char grilled king prawns and pâté of foie gras. For their steaks, Black & Blue use prime 28-day aged British Isles beef which is then char grilled and served with fries, house salad, foie gras and choice of Béarnaise sauce, herb and garlic butter or peppercorn sauce. Fish dishes include Indian Ocean yellow fin tuna steak, king prawns with garlic butter and Shetland Isles salmon steak. For dessert, enjoy warm apple and almond tart, ice cream sundae or champagne and peach sorbet. Other options include a cheese board, dessert wine, cognac and amaretto. A glass of white or red wine, your favourite brand of beer, or spirits enhances the evening's pleasure.
