Black Horse Inn, The

This pub is part of a row of 17th century cottages and has a charming wooded garden at the rear with a stream flowing through it, which is crossed by a small bridge. At the front is a terraced area and inside it has a stone floor with a large fireplace, log burning stove, and two bar areas. Five different walks around the area can be enjoyed by customers before a hearty meal with ales and lagers.

The menu features regular suspects like ham egg and chips, chicken and bacon Caesar salad, English fillet steaks and curry served with rice, poppadom and mango chutney. The specials board changes daily and covers seafood. Desserts include treacle tart and apple and sultana crumble. Their Sunday lunch is a home cooked traditional roast, served with freshly prepared vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and gravy.
